I view myself as a creative person. I have been blessed to be a public school art teacher for the last 27 years. I have dabbled in a variety of mediums throughout my life. My current medium of choice is clay. I enjoy the never ending discovery of new techniques and applications. I am known for my alternative firing processes. My alternative firing process is using aluminum foil saggar. My doll series are made in 2 parts. The head is red stoneware. It is fired separately and placed in a white stoneware saggar form. I often incorporate metal hardware in both clays when the clay is malleable. The metal is fired with the clay. My influences come from Asian, Native American and folk art figurines.
